Lavender is a beautiful color, but I like to soften it to almost gray for use in a dining or living room.  The rustic gold tones in this scheme are the perfect compliment for the pale lavender wall color.  Using more prominent chairs at the ends of the table gives a stylish and unique look to this dining room. Yellow and pink are beautiful together…one of my favorite yellow/pink color combinations is a soft yellow paired with magenta.  I recommend using the yellow as a base for the room and using the magenta as an accent and a lighter shade of yellow on the walls.  White can be added to balance the brightness of the colors.  Images left to right…Openwork Chandelier by Horchow, $2395.  Goddess Embroidered Toss Pillow by World Market, $25.  Marimekko Lepo Pink and Yellow Pillow, 20″ by Crate and Barrel, $51.  Corrigan Chair by Anthropologie, $1698.  Stencil Magenta Cut Velvet Pillow by Domicile, $200.  Argonne Rug by Home Decorators, (9×13) $599.  Sasha Slipcovered Sofa by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, (price not noted).
