The way lavender is perceived can be influenced by the colors it is used with. This room by Anne Coyle is brilliant example of transforming lavender through the use of color.   The use of black gives a more masculine feel to this feminine color.

Benjamin Moore has unveiled their color of the year, Vintage Wine #2116-20.  This deep hue is best used as an accent.  Shown above, this nook is given a cozy feel by just painting one wall with this rich color.  (A nice departure from the usual “white mudroom” look.)  This color is warm and welcoming.  Not up for painting?…Here are some other ways to bring this sophisticated color into your own home.
