Going Green…

April 30, 2011 § Leave a comment

I went to Weston Nurseries today, to replace some bushes that did not make it through our New England winter.  Seeing all the beautiful flowers got me thinking about designs for the outdoors.  So the color inspiration for today’s post?  Green!  Green is peaceful & relaxing, and perfect for outdoor settings.  When decorating outdoors, most of your color is coming from nature, so I recommend going neutral with your outdoor furniture, with the exception of a few key accessories.  Bring in some color with something simple like yellow or green print pillows and cut flowers.  Add drama with lighting by using lanterns or pendants.  The results will be understated and peaceful.  Need a bit more color?  Use light green or pale yellow for your furniture with a darker shades of green and yellow for your accents.
